PAIL stands for Pregnancy and Infant Loss. Each October, families around the world honor and remember babies gone too soon. The PAIL Collection was created as our way of walking alongside these families and helping keep their babies' names seen, spoken, and remembered.

The PAIL Collection is an annual remembrance and awareness campaign created by Alexandra & Wells. Each year, families are invited to submit their baby's name to be included on our annual name lists, which are printed on the back of select pieces from the collection.

Over the years, these lists have become one of the most meaningful parts of who we are. Families look forward to being a part of this with us year after year.

I lost my son in 2019 when he was just two days old. This heart and mission of this company is rooted in my need as a mother to say and share his name. This collection does that -- not just for me, but for this entire community.

The PAIL Collection exists to make space for the names that so many families carry but the world may not always see. Together we recognize them, remember them, and remind families that their babies are forever loved.

Each name represents a life that deserves to be remembered. Printing these names together creates a sense of togetherness within a community that so often feels isolated and alone. Each name printed on our lists serves as a visible reminder that no family is alone in their grief, love, or remembrance.

The first PAIL Collection began in 2021 with around 300 names. I started Alexandra & Wells with the sole intention to share my son's name with our family and friends. This collection just became a natural extension of that, because each and every life deserves to be remembered.

Since then, it has grown into an annual collection that has honored more than 13,000 names from families around the world. What began as a small remembrance project has become the most important collection we create each year.

The PAIL Collection is deeply personal to our family because our son is a part of this list, too. His name is right alongside the names of every baby we honor.

This collection is one I return to every year with my whole heart. As it continues to grow, I learn how to grow with it. I will never take lightly what an honor it is to hold, organize, and remember each name that is sent to us.

The PAIL Collection is for families who have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, stillbirth, miscarriage, TFMR, neonatal loss, or the loss of a baby at any stage.

It is also for loved ones, family and friends who want to honor and support a family walking through this grief, and is a beautiful want to stand beside these families and ensure them that their baby will always be remembered.

For many families (mine included), one of the deepest fears after loss is that their baby will be forgotten.

Remembrance gives families to say, "My baby was here. Their life mattered. Their name is still loved. Their name deserves to be shared."

The PAIL Collection exists to help carry that remembrance forward.

The names on our remembrance lists are organized by the first letter of the first name submitted.

We do not organize by last name.

For example, Wells would be listed under the letter W.

Yes. If multiple names are submitted through the same form, they will be grouped together based on the first letter of the first name entered.

For example, if "Elliot James Carter" and "Mae Rose Carter" are submitted on the same form, they will appear together as:

Elliot James + Mae Rose Carter

The submission would be placed under the letter E because Elliot was the first name entered.

Through years of careful development, testing and refinement.

As the collection has grown, the names have been divided into multiple alphabetical remembrance lists. Our garments and artwork are designed specifically to accommodate these lists while keeping every name as clear and legible as possible.

Each list typically contains approximately 1,300 to 1,500 names, although the dinal ranges depend on the total number of names submitted each year.

This year's remembrance list is broken up into 6 alphabetical lists by the first letter(s) of your baby's first name.

List 1: "A" thru "Be"
List 2: "Bi" thru "El"
List 3: "Em" thru "Ja"
List 4: "Je" thru "Man"

Yes. All garments in the PAIL Collection are unisex, and are designed to be worn by the entire family.

This year's apparel is designed to offer a relaxed fit for men and a roomy fit for women when ordering true to size. If you would like a closer fit, we recommend sizing down. If you would like an exaggerated oversized fit, size up.

Our garments are designed with a relaxed, oversized unisex fit intended for comfort.

Our PAIL Collection is designed from premium custom fabrics hand selected and developed specifically for Alexandra & Wells.

Every garment is cut and sewn exclusively for Alexandra & Wells by our industry partners. We do not print on wholesale blanks. When selecting our fabrics, we prioritize exceptional softness, durability and longevity so these pieces can be worn for years to come.

Our heritage fleece garments are made from 100% brushed cotton french terry, and our comfort tees are made from our signature 95% cotton 5% elastane blend. Each product page includes detailed information about the specific fabric, weight and composition used for that garment.

At this time, we do not offer children's apparel in The PAIL Collection.

Because each garment contains thousands of names, the artwork requires a much larger print area than children's clothing can accomomdate while keeping every name clear and legible.

Many families choose to purchase an oversized tee, crewneck or hoodie for their child to grow into, or a hat than can be worn now and treasured for years to come. These pieces become more than clothing, and are keepsakes that carry their baby's name.

Yes. Giving back has always been an important part of The PAIL Collection.

Each year, a portion of proceeds is donated to organizations serving the pregnancy and infant loss community. Last year, because of this incredible community, we were honored to donate $7,480.10 to Walk With Me.

The PAIL Collection is also what allows Alexandra & Wells to continue our mission throughout the year. As a small business, this collection provides the financial foundation to fund our operations, create future collections, support our team, and continue advocating for families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss.

Your support allows us to continue honoring babies, raising awareness, and investing in organizations that provide meaningful care to grieving families. While every purchase supports this mission, the greatest impact of the PAIL Collection has always been ensuring that thousands of babies are remembered, spoken about and never forgotten.

Preorders are open from July 19 at 7pm CT and close July 26 at 11:59pm CT.

Because each piece is produced specifically for this year's collection, orders must be placed during the official preorder window. Availability after the preorder window closes cannot be guaranteed.

Every year's PAIL Collection is built around the names submitted to us during the remembrance campaign.

Once the final artwork is complete with this year's names, we begin accepting preorders before we start production. This allows us to cut and sew garments based on the styles, colors and sizes selected by participating families, while minimizing unnecessary waste or sell outs. Our full production time takes an estimated 10-12 weeks.

There is no limit to the number of garments that may be ordered during the preorder window.

Many families choose to purchase pieces for or share preorder information with grandparents, siblings, spouses, aunts, uncles, loved ones, and close friends as a meaningful way to remember and honor their baby together.

We encourage you to place your families order together, as this not only saves on shipping charges, but provides a meaningful experience for families to hand these pieces out in honor of their baby.

Because the PAIL Collection is offered as a preorder, garments are produced according to the orders placed during the preorder window.

While we anticipate accommodating demand throughout the preorder period, production depends on material availability. For the best selection, we encourage placing your order early within the preorder window. Should we run out of specific colorways, we will still offer these items with an extended lead time for us to mill and dye new fabric.

Once an order has been placed, we cannot guarantee that additional items can be combined with your existing order. If you would like to make changes, please contact us as soon as possible.

Because of the scale and complexity of the PAIL Collection, we are unable to combine separate orders once they have been placed.

Each order immediately enters our production planning system, where remembrance lists, garment selections and shipping information are organized for fulfillment. Combining orders after they have been processed significantly increases the risk of production and fulfillment errors.

While we understand additional shipping charges can be disappointing, keeping each order separate helps us fulfill thousands of customer orders as accurately as possible. If you are planning to purchase multiple items, we recommend placing. them together in one order whenever possible.

Each listing page will clearly identify the list number and letter range for you to select from. Before ordering, please confirm which list contains your baby's name and select the corresponding option.

Please review the final remembrance list artwork and your product selection carefully before completing your order.

If you notice an error after ordering, contact us immediately with your order number. Changes can only be made before our preorder window closes on July 26 at 11:59pm CT. We will do our best to help correct the error. Changes cannot be made once the preorder window has closed and production begins.

The PAIL Collection is produced based on orders placed during the official preorder period.

Once preorders close, we begin preparing production quantities. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that items will be available after July 26. Any overage produced during production will be available to purchase in October, however this selection and quantities will be extremely limited.

The PAIL Collection is designed to be a preorder event, and we encourage anyone hoping to purchase to do so during the official preorder window.

We produce a small margin of additional pieces beyond our preorder quantities to account for any items that do not pass our quality control checks. However, availability depends on production and varies by style, color, size and remembrance list.

Because we cannot guarantee that your preferred piece will be available later, we strongly encourage placing your order during the preorder window.

Families who have ordered during our preorder window will always receive priority. If additional inventory is available, it will only be offered after every preorder item has been filled.

Because every PAIL Collection piece is produced specifically for you, all PAIL collection purchases are final sale.

Because each garment is made specifically for you, the timeline includes fabric preparation, cutting, sewing, printing, quality control, transportation and fulfillment. This takes time and precision, and results in a production timeline of around 10-12 weeks.

Every PAIL Collection garment is made specifically for this year's remembrance campaign and list.

Unlike in-stock merchandise, production does not begin until the preorder window has closed. The timeline includes cutting & sewing, printing, quality control, international transportation, and fulfillment from our warehouse to you.

We understand the wait can feel long, and we will share meaningful updates throughout the production process with you.

We know this collection requires a longer waiting time than traditional purchases, and is a very emotional purchase for our families. Throughout production, we'll share updates by email and on social media so you can follow the journey from preorder through shipment.

If your order contains multiple PAIL Collection items, or any items outside of the PAIL Collection, they will ship together once every item in your order is ready for fulfillment.

We proudly ship the PAIL Collection worldwide with both UPS and DHL.

International customers are responsible for any duties, taxes or import fees required by their destination countries. Alexandra & Wells does not determine these amounts, nor the international shipping rates set by our carriers.

When fulfilling orders, we separate our warehouse by remembrance list. Due to volume and the organization required for packaging, we are unable to ship every remembrance list at the same time.

This year, we will be using a lottery system to determine the order of shipping. This allows us to fairly ship each list within our team's capabilities. We will randomly draw the order of how lists will ship at the beginning of our fulfillment window.

The PAIL Collection is significantly more complex than a traditional clothing release. This process allows us to fulfill the collection as efficiently as possible while giving every family an equal opportunity to receive their order early in the shipping period.

Receiving your order later than another family does not indicate a delay or problem with your order. It simply means we have not gotten to your order/list within our fulfillment process. If there is a known delay associated with your order, we will reach out to you directly.
